Man Grabs Teenage Girl Going To School On Red Line
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are looking for a man who grabbed a girl in a sexual manner as she exited a Red Line train on her way to school Monday morning in the Loop.
The 16-year-old girl was riding a southbound Red Line train when a man sat next to her at the Jarvis station about 7:15 a.m. Monday, according to a community alert from Area Central detectives. When the girl attempted to exit the train at the State/Jackson station, the man grabbed her in an inappropriate manner.
The girl told the man to stop, and several passengers on the train took notice, police said. She got off the train and contacted police when she got to school.
The suspect stayed on the train and is not in custody. He is described as a 35-year-old, clean-shaven black man, about 5-foot-8 and 160 pounds, wearing black jeans and an oversized black jacket with a hood and fake fur collar.
Anyone with information should call Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.
