Man Goes To Extreme To Cheat Urine Test
WOODSTOCK (STMW) -- A northwest suburban man went to a somewhat extreme measure on Tuesday to try to pass an alcohol and drug screening, according to the McHenry County Sheriff's office.
Thomas Flores, 23, of Lake in the Hills, met on Tuesday with his probation officer at the McHenry County Government Center in Woodstock, as required under the terms of his probation, a release from the sheriff's office said. While providing a urine sample for analysis, Flores placed an unknown substance in the specimen cup that was retrieved from a condom that was hidden in his sock, sheriff's police said.
McHenry County Court Services notified members of the Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Bureau and Flores was taken into custody. Flores was subsequently taken to the McHenry County Jail.
He was charged with unlawful defrauding of a drug and alcohol screening, a Class 4 felony. Court information was not immediately available.
In 2010 McHenry County Sheriff's officers made five arrests where individuals were charged with attempting to unlawfully pass a drug or alcohol screening.
