Man Gets 50 Years For Videotaping Sex With Boy, 9
MARKHAM, Ill. (CBS) -- A Harvey man has been sentenced to 50 years behind bars, after admitting to having a sexual encounter with a 9-year-old boy, and videotaping it, in his trailer.
James Arrigoni, 44, who is already a registered sex offender, pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated child pornography last week, according to the Cook County State's Attorney's office. He was sentenced to 50 years in prison.
Arrigoni was also handed a concurrent 10-year sentence after pleading guilty to one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to the State's Attorney's office.
In March 2010, Harvey police detectives were investigating an unrelated sexual assault, when they found out Arrigoni had been hosting visits the 9-year-old alone in his mobile home. The boy and his mother lived in a trailer nearby.
Upon executing a search warrant, police found a DVD in which he was seen engaging in a sex act with the boy, according to the State's Attorney's office. After the boy's mother identified her son in the video, Arrigoni was arrested and admitted to the acts, prosecutors said.
Arrigoni previously pleaded guilty in 1992 to a criminal sexual assault charge in which the victm was a 13-year-old boy, according to the State's Attorney's office. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison in that case.
He is listed as a sexual predator on the Illinois Sex Offender Registry.
Arrigoni was sentenced on Monday of last week.
