Man Gets 2 Years In Prison For Spitting In Cop's Mouth
BURNS HARBOR, Ind. (STMW) - A Chicago man with hepatitis C who spit in the mouth of a Burns Harbor police officer was sentenced to two years in jail Thursday.
Frank S. Vasquez, 56, was sentenced on a felony battery to a law enforcement officer and misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.
Vasquez was handcuffed and his ankles manacled, and he was wearing a spit mask after spitting at officers when he began kicking and damaging the back seat of a squad in September 2009. He dislodged the mask and spit at an officer who so far has tested negative for hepatitis.
