Man Found Shot To Death In Car In Washington Heights
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man who was shot to death while driving was found slumped over in the driver's seat of a car after striking a planter box in the Washington Heights neighborhood late Thursday.
Police were called to the 9100 block of South Justine Street on the South Side after receiving reports of a man shot about 11:40 p.m., said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.
There they found the man unresponsive behind the wheel after he was shot several times, authorities said. After he was shot, the man apparently lost control of the car, drove over a curb and crashed into the planter.
The 25-year-old man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office was not releasing the man's name early Friday because his family had not yet been notified, an official said.
No one was in custody as Area South detectives investigated.
