Man Found Dead In SW Side Lagoon After Apparent Heart Attack
MARQUETTE PARK (STMW)-- A man is dead after suffering an apparent heart attack before falling into a lagoon Thursday afternoon at Marquette Park on the Southwest Side.
Police responded at 2:22 p.m. to find a 61-year-old man in the lagoon in the 5900 block of Kanst Drive inside Marquette Park, police News Affairs Officer Darryl Baety said.
The man suffered an apparent heart attack before falling into the water, authorities said.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office confirmed the fatality but did not have the man's identification as of 4 p.m.
Police are conducting a death investigation, pending the results of a Friday autopsy.
