Man Found Dead In Northwest Side Home
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man found dead at his Northwest side home Monday night had suffered head trauma so severe that investigators at first had a hard time determining how exactly he died.
Investigators discovered the body of 41-year-old Kendrick Wright lying in a puddle of blood at his Belmont-Cragin neighborhood home in the 5100 block of West Belden Avenue, authorities said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at about 10:45 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. Severe trauma to the head was given as a preliminary cause of death, authorities said.
While a precise cause of death has yet to be ruled, it appears he was murdered, according to the medical examiner.
Chicago police said they are conducting a death investigation, though no one was in custody and Wright's death was not declared a homicide as of 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Further information was not available.
