Man Found Dead In Little Village Is Season's Second Cold Death
CHICAGO (STMW) -- The death of a man Sunday in the Little Village neighborhood was the second confirmed cold-related death of the winter season in Cook County.
Daniel Badillo, 50, was found in the 3100 block of West 26th Street and pronounced dead at St. Anthony Hospital at 8:02 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
An autopsy Monday determined Badillo died of hypothermia, cold exposure, and acute and chronic alcoholism, the medical examiner's office said. His death was ruled an accident.
A 64-year-old woman found dead in the North Side Uptown neighborhood last month was the season's first cold-related death.
Beverly Weaver was found dead in the 1500 block of West Lawrence Avenue on Oct. 25, according to the medical examiner's office.
An autopsy found Weaver died of hypothermia, cold exposure and HCVD, and her death was ruled an accident.
