Man Fatally Struck By Vehicle While Fleeing Robbers

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are seeking the public's help in finding a vehicle wanted for fatally striking a man fleeing from robbers early Sunday in the West Side Lawndale neighborhood.
A man in his 30s was walking with a 27-year-old man in the 2700 block of South Kedvale Avenue at 5 a.m. when four to five men approached and attempted to rob them, police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez said.
The men split up while running from the robbers, Perez said. His companion discovered the man in his 30s in the street struck by a vehicle.
He was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital at 5:38 a.m., Perez said.
The robbers fled southbound on Kedvale Avenue in a white Ford Taurus, Perez said.
The police have issued a community alert seeking a 2000-2005 white Ford Taurus with damage to the passenger side headlight.
