Updated 02/05/11 - 12:30 p.m.

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 22-year-old man was stabbed to death on the West Side early Saturday morning.

David Mason was stabbed in the throat at about 3:20 a.m. on the 200 block of North Keystone Avenue, police said.

Mason, of the 4000 block of West Washington Street, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:51 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Mason knew his attacker and was inside a residence playing cards prior to the attack, Harrison District police Lt. John Andrews said.

The incident may also have involved alcohol.

Andrews said the suspect, who likely used a knife, fled after the attack and was not in custody early Saturday afternoon.

Harrison Area detectives were investigating.
