Man Fatally Stabbed On Northwest Side
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A Logan Square man is dead after being stabbed Saturday night near his Northwest Side home.
The man -- identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office as 21-year-old Linear Caballero -- was stabbed at 5:57 p.m. in the 2400 block of West Armitage Avenue, police said.
He was stopped in traffic in a car his girlfriend was driving when a man approached and the two began arguing, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said. The fight turned physical and the man stabbed Caballero several times in the neck.
"Apparently they had a run-in prior and it looks like that may have stemmed from that prior incident," Mirabelli said.
Caballero was initially taken to Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center, then transferred to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was pronounced dead at 7:32 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office.
A person of interested is being questioned in the stabbing, which Mirabelli said happened at the busy intersection of Armitage and Western avenues when there were a lot of other cars nearby.
Anyone with information is asked to call Grand Central detectives at (312) 746-8282.
