Man Fatally Shot On West Side

CHICAGO (STMW) - A man was fatally shot Wednesday evening on the West Side.

The 25-year-old man -- identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office as Marcus Hurley -- was shot at 5:16 p.m. in the 3900 block of West Thomas Street, police said.

Police said Hurley was shot in the back and taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County. He was pronounced dead at 5:49 p.m., the medical examiner's office said.

An autopsy on Hurley, whose home address was not immediately available, is scheduled for Thursday, the medical examiner's office said.

Harrison Area detectives are investigating, but nobody is in custody Wednesday night.
