Man Fatally Shot On NW Side
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was fatally shot Friday night on the Northwest Side Portage Park neighborhood block where he lived.
The man was found unresponsive in the 3900 block of North Central Avenue about 8:33 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said.
The man was found in a hallway with a gunshot wound to the chest, Gaines said.
Manuel Hernandez, 21, of the 3900 block of North Central Avenue, was pronounced dead at Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center at 8:58 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
