Man Fatally Shot In NW Side Popeyes
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was shot and killed Friday night in a restaurant in the Austin neighborhood on the Northwest Side.
The shooting happened about 9:15 p.m. in the 5500 block of West North Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.
The 21-year-old man was shot several times by someone who fled on foot, Greer said.
The man was in a Popeyes Chicken and Biscuits when he was shot from outside through the glass front of the restaurant, a police source said.
Four bullet holes could be seen in a glass pane on the east side of the restaurant. Crime scene tape still surrounded the restaurant and the parking lot early Saturday as police inside continued to investigate.
Marshall D. Fields-Hall, of the 1500 block of North Luna Avenue, was pronounced dead at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County at 9:55 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
No one is in custody and Area North detectives are investigating.
