Man Dies In Crash While Fleeing Police
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 29-year-old man died after he crashed his vehicle while attempting to flee police Tuesday night on the West Side.
The man was pulled over in the 5800 block of West Lemoyne about 9 p.m. for speeding and not observing a stop sign, police said.
As the two officers got out of their squad car, the man sped off. He then lost control of his vehicle and hit a tree. A 29-year-old woman was riding in the car with him, police said. She was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in "stable" condition.
The man, identified as Dameon Moore, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office, was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital 9:57 p.m. He died of multiple injuries from an automobile striking a fixed object and his death was ruled an accident, the medical examiner's office said.
