Man Dies After Work Accident At Schaumburg Mall
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (STMW) -- A Maywood man died after he fell from a truck Sunday morning outside the Woodfield Mall in northwest suburban Schaumburg.
Shortly before noon Sunday, 44-year-old Eric Terrell and a coworker were unloading a shipment of shelving units from a truck outside the mall, said Schaumburg Police Public Information Officer John Nebl. While standing on the truck's rear lift gate, Terrell fell about four feet to the ground, Nebl said.
Terrell, of the 400 block of South 9th Avenue in Maywood, was taken to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village where he was pronounced dead at noon, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
An autopsy Monday found he died of multiple injuries from the fall and from being crushed by falling boxes, the medical examiner's office said. His death was ruled an accident.
