Man Dies After West Side Shooting
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 34-year-old man is dead, the day after he was was shot multiple times on the city's West Side.
The man was on the street on the 800 block of North St. Louis Avenue about 5:35 p.m. Monday, when a someone walked up to him with a gun and began shooting, according to a report from police News Affairs.
Marcus Bassett, 34, of an unspecified home address, was pronounced dead at 3:53 a.m. Tuesday at Stroger Hospital of Cook County, according to a spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
No one was in custody as of Tuesday morning, police said.
