Man Dies After Leaning Out Of Moving Car, Hitting Parked Vehicle
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man died Sunday night when he thrust his body outside of a moving car and struck a parked vehicle while speeding past, police said.
Orlando Mayo Jr. died from injuries suffered when he struck the car parked in the 2000 block of East 79th Street while leaning out of a 1987 Chevrolet Caprice, authorities said.
Police News Affairs Officer Daniel Sullivan said he was at a loss to explain why Mayo was possessed to lean his body out of the car as it traveled westbound about 7:20 p.m.
Mayo, of the 2700 block of East 142nd Street in Burnham, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:54 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
