Man Dies After Falling Down Stairs At Restaurant
CHICAGO (STMW) -- An intoxicated 71-year-old man died Friday night after falling down the stairs at a popular Northwest Side restaurant.
Kazimeirz Halapacz, 71, of 4818 W. Byron St., fell down a flight of stairs at 3028 N. Milwaukee Ave. and was pronounced dead at 11:12 p.m. at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Staropolska, a popular Polish-American restaurant, is listed at that location.
A Sunday autopsy determined Halapacz died of multiple injuries from a fall down stairs and alcohol intoxication, according to the medical examiner's office, which ruled the death an accident.
Grand Central Area detectives are investigating.
