Man Dies After Being Rescued From Water Off Navy Pier
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man died after being rescued from the waters of Lake Michigan off Navy Pier Thursday evening.
The Fire Dept., Police Marine Unit and Coast Guard responded about 6:45 p.m. to an area about 20 feet out from Navy Pier to a report of a man in the water, according to Fire Media Affairs.
A Fire Department dive team pulled the man from the water about 45 minutes later and he was taken in serious to critical condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to Fire Media.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office confirmed his death but his identity was not immediately known.
