Man Dies After Being Found Shot In Vacant Lot
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was shot and killed just after midnight Sunday in the South Side Hamilton Park neighborhood, police said.
Police responded to a call of a person shot about 12:15 a.m. and found a 26-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds in a vacant lot in the 5900 block of South Union Avenue, according to a police News Affairs release.
He was taken to Saint Bernard Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:30 a.m., police said.
A Cook County Medical Examiner's office spokeswoman said the office had not been notified of the death as of 2:15 a.m.
Wentworth Area detectives are investigating, but no one was in custody as of 2 a.m.
