Man Dead After Jumping From Vehicle While Arguing With His Wife
HAMMOND, Ind. (CBS) -- A Chicago man is dead, after jumping out of a moving vehicle in Hammond, Ind., as he argued with his wife earlier this week.
Hammond police confirmed to CBS 2 Thursday afternoon that Dinesh Sherestha, 46, was a passenger in a sport-utility vehicle that his wife was driving in Hammond in the 5500 block of Hohman Avenue at 4:06 p.m. Monday.
They were in the middle of an argument, police said. They say Sherestha's wife was taking him to the South Shore train station so he could go back to Chicago, but he wanted to stay with her.
During the argument, Sherestha jumped out of the moving vehicle, police said.
He suffered severe head trauma and was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
Sherestha's wife was given a breathalyzer test for alcohol and registered zero. She was not ticketed or cited in connection with the incident.
Police have concluded their investigation into the case.
