Man Critically Wounded In Lawndale Shooting
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 21-year-old man was critically wounded in what police believe was a gang-related shooting in the West Side Lawndale neighborhood early Saturday.
The shooting occurred at 5:30 a.m. in the 2400 block of South Troy Street, police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan said.
The 21-year-old victim was standing across the street from his home when a silver-colored vehicle with several occupants drove by and a rear seat passenger got out and shot him multiple times, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said. He suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and right arm, police said.
The victim, who has gang affiliations, according to police, was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital. The shooting was believed to be gang-related.
