Man Critically Wounded In Evanston Shooting
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police say it looks like the shooting of a 20-year-old man on the Evanston side of the border with Chicago and the north suburb early Saturday was in retaliation for a homicide that occurred a little over a week ago.
Evanston Police responded at approximately 1:50 a.m. to the 1900 block of Howard Street, along the Evanston/Chicago border, for a report of person shot. The victim, an Evanston resident, was shot multiple times as he got out of a vehicle, Evanston police said.
He was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
Police said the victim appears to have been specifically targeted by two offenders. Preliminary indications from the police investigation so far as of late Saturday morning are that this shooting was in retaliation for a homicide that occurred a little over a week ago.
