Man Critically Injured In West Side Fire
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A blaze at a strip mall in the West Side Lawndale neighborhood left one person critically injured Saturday evening, according to a spokesman for the Chicago Fire Department.
Firefighters believe some sort of explosion caused a fire to erupt in the 1800 block of South Kostner Avenue, Fire Media Affairs said about 6:20 p.m., adding that the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
The blaze caused a store front to collapse, Fire Media Affairs said.
A man believed to be 25-years-old was burned and listed in critical condition at Mount Sinai Hospital, Fire Media Affairs said.
