Man Critically Injured After Falling Onto Blue Line Tracks
(STMW) -- A man who fell onto the CTA tracks at the Logan Square station has been taken to a hospital in critical condition with burns.
The man fell onto the tracks about 4:30 p.m. at the Logan Square Blue Line station in the 2600 block of North Milwaukee, authorities said.
The man made contact with the electrically-charged third rail and paramedics took him in critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center with burns, according to Fire Media Affairs.
The CTA said Forest Park-bound Blue Line trains were temporarily halted because of the "unauthorized person on the tracks," a CTA rider alert said.
As of 5 p.m. service was being resumed with "residual delays," according to the CTA. Commuters were advised to allow extra travel time.
