Man Stabbed Near Belmont Station In Lakeview
CHICAGO (CBS) -- There was a mob attack, just outside the Belmont L station this morning, reports WBBM's Michele Fiore.
A source tells WBBM he's seen fights in the area of Belmont and Sheffield before, but never one like this. At least 30 people, he says, ran after two young men west down Belmont.
Caught right in front of the doors to the L station, the mob began kicking and punching the two, using their fists, feet and a broken bottle. Our source says one of the two was stabbed in the eye.
Chicago police confirm a 25-year-old man was transported in stable condition to Illinois Masonic just after 5 a.m.
