Man Chasing Dog Critically Hurt In Ashland Avenue Hit-And-Run

CHICAGO (CBS) - Police continue their search for the driver who hit a man who was trying to get one of his dogs out of the street on busy Ashland Avenue Wednesday.

As WBBM Newsradio's Bernie Tafoya reports, police say the just before 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, 25-year-old victim had been walking his two dogs, when one of them broke free and ran onto Ashland Avenue between Wrightwood Avenue and Altgeld Street

The man went after the dog and was hit by a Jeep. Police say the driver did not stick around.

The victim was taken in critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, after severely hurting an arm, according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Larry Langford.

Police say his dogs were both uninjured.
