Man Charged With Trying To Kidnap 2 Girls In Bolingbrook In January
JOLIET, Ill. (CBS) -- A 20-year old man was behind bars in Will County Thursday morning, after allegedly trying to kidnap two girls on their way home from school in January.
WBBM Newsradio's Bernie Tafoya reports Kareem Green was arrested Tuesday after police said he tried to abduct two 16-year-old girls in separate incidents in late January, as they were walking home from Bolingbrook High School.
Man Tried To Abduct 2 Girls
In the first incident, he allegedly tried to pull the girl into a blue SUV near Radcliffe Drive and Old Stone Road. A bystander saw the girl trying to get away, and yelled, and the suspect got back in the SUV and fled the scene.
Two days later, Green allegedly followed a girl into an apartment building on Wood Creek Drive and grabbed her. She fought him off and ran into a nearby park.
Police said both girls picked Green out of a lineup.
Green was charged with unlawful restraint, attempted kidnapping, battery, and aggravated battery.
He was being held at the Will County Jail on $500,000 bond.
