Man Charged With Stealing Cemetery Vases
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man has been charged with stealing dozens of grave markers from Chicago area cemeteries.
Authorities charge he swiped two dozen bronze vases from graves from two cemeteries--Randhill and Shalom Memorial Park.
Vincent Peterson was taken into custody on Friday and charged with felony theft.
The Cook County Sheriff investigators say they caught he red-handed, still wearing a Shalom cemetery t-shirt where he used to work.
He had 14 vases in his car and allegedly had recently sold another 10 at a recycling center.
He sold them for $7, far less than their $300 value.
