Man Charged With Stabbing Woman To Death In Rogers Park
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man now stands charged with stabbing a woman to death this week in her Rogers Park neighborhood apartment.
Larry Smith, 57, was charged with first-degree murder for allegedly stabbing Rasheda Tucker, 35. Tucker was found dead around 6:30 p.m. in her apartment in the 7700 block of North Sheridan Road, in the North of Howard section of Rogers Park.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Smith, who lives on the same block, allegedly stabbed her multiple times during an argument, according to a police News Affairs release.
Police had initially questioned him as a person of interest in the case, police said.
Sources said Smith bragged to an ex-girlfriend or wife about the killing, and later turned himself in to authorities.
Smith was to appear for a bond hearing Wednesday, police said.
