Man Charged With Stabbing Family Member In Domestic Dispute
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man has been charged with stabbing a 49-year-old family member multiple times during a dispute Monday morning at a Northwest Side home.
Sabastian Pruchniakowski, 22, faces charges for attempted first-degree murder and aggravated domestic battery in connection with the attack, which occurred at home, according to police.
About 9:18 a.m. and argument broke out between the two men in the 5100 block of North East River Road, according to Fire Media Affairs. During the attack Pruchniakowski allegedly stabbed his 49-year-old family member multiple times, including at least once in the neck, police said.
Police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said the two men are related, but could not say how.
The stabbing victim was taken in critical condition to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where his condition was stabilized, authorities said.
The man told detectives that Pruchniakowski was his attacker.
Pruchniakowski is scheduled to appear in Cook County bond court Wednesday.
