Man Charged With Shooting Ex-Wife And Her Brother
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Bond was denied Wednesday for a man charged with breaking into an apartment earlier this week in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood, and shooting his ex-wife and her brother.
Marquis Wadley, 24, was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count of home invasion with discharge of a firearm, according to Chicago Police.
Wadley broke into an apartment in the 1400 block of East 67th Place about 6:45 a.m. Monday, and was confronted by his ex-wife's older brother, police said.
The men began struggling and Wadley shot his ex-in-law in the back and face, then shot his ex-wife in the right arm, police said.
The man was taken in critical condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he remains as of Wednesday afternoon, police said. The woman was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition.
Wadley, of the 4800 block of South Wabash, was ordered held without bond Wednesday, according to the Cook County sheriff's office. His next court date is Dec. 14.
