Man Charged With Sexual Assault Of Two Children When They Were 6 Years Old
WOODSTOCK, Ill. (STMW) -- A 34-year-old far north suburban man is being held at the McHenry County Jail after being charged with sexually assaulting two children, both around 6 years old at the time, when he was in his 20s.
According to the McHenry County Sheriff's office, a 14-year-old victim came forward with allegations about Louis P. Hoerauf, formerly of Wonder Lake. The victim alleged being sexually assaulted by Hoerauf when he was living in Wonder Lake in 2004. The victim reported the assaults occurred around the age of six or seven, when Hoerauf was in his mid-20s, according to a release from sheriff's police.
During the course of that investigation, sheriff's police investigators learned of a second possible victim. An 18-year-old was interviewed by police and disclosed being sexually assaulted by Hoerauf in the same manner as the first victim, at age 6. The assaults occurred over a period of two years while the victim was living with Hoerauf in Wonder Lake, police said.
While being interviewed by sheriff's police, Hoerauf admitted to assaulting both children, who lived in the same home in Wonder Lake, the release said. Hoerauf was taken into custody and charged with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, a Class X Felony.
Hoerauf, whose current address is in the 23500 block of Field Road in Lake Zurich, is currently being held at the McHenry County Jail on $100,000 bond, according to the sheriff's office. His next court date is scheduled for Jan. 24.
