Man Charged With Sexual Assault Of 11-Year-Old He Met Online
APPLETON, Wisc. (STMW)-- A 24-year-old Wisconsin man was charged Wednesday with the sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl from the Northwest Side that he met through an internet chat room.
Alan J. Reh, 24, of Appleton, Wisc., met the girl a couple of weeks ago in an internet chat room and then began talking with her on the phone, Appleton Police Lt. Jeff Miller said. Reh drove to Chicago at 3 a.m. on Wednesday and picked up the girl from her Northwest Side home. He then drove her back to his apartment where he sexually assaulted her.
Appleton police were notified Wednesday afternoon of the missing girl and contacted Chicago Police, who were able to find Reh through the girl's phone records, Miller said. With the cooperation of the apartment manager, police entered Reh's apartment and found him with the girl.
Reh was charged with first degree sexual assault, using a computer to facilitate child endangerment, and child enticement, which are all felonies. He faces 25-60 years in prison for the sexual assault felony, Miller said.
