CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man charged with sexually assaulting a woman early Sunday near the Loyola University Chicago campus in Rogers Park was ordered held on $500,000 bond.
Michael Dixon, 37, of the 1300 block of West Estes Avenue, is charged with felony aggravated criminal sexual assault, battery and attempted robbery, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said. He was also cited for riding a bicycle on the sidewalk.
Police were contacted after Dixon allegedly made inappropriate sexual contact with a 20-year-old woman, then demanded money in the lobby of a building in the 1400 block of West Albion about 4:30 a.m., Mirabelli said.
Officers spotted Dixon, who matched the description of the suspect, riding a bicycle on the sidewalk in the 6800 block of North Sheridan, Mirabelli said.
The victim positively identified Dixon as her attacker.
He was ordered held on $500,000 bond Wednesday, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office. He will next appear in court Sept. 9 at Branch 66.
