Man Charged With Forcing Girl Into Prostitution
BOLINGBROOK, Ill. (STMW) - A west suburban man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly forcing a minor into prostitution.
The FBI and Bolingbrook police arrested McKenzie "Casino" Carson, 39, of the 200 block of Campbell Drive in Bolingbrook early Tuesday at his home without incident, according to a release from the U.S. Department of Justice. He was charged in a federal criminal complaint filed last week with one count of sexual trafficking of children by force, fraud or coercion.
Carson has been actively recruiting young women, including girls under the age of 18, to work for him as prostitutes in and around the Chicago area since 2010, according to the complaint. He advertised their services over the Internet and used cell phones to schedule and book "dates" for the girls.
He is believed to have employed others to assist him in running the prostitution operation, driving the girls to motels, hotels and other locations to meet customers, the release said.
It is alleged that Carson used violence and threats of violence, including sexual assault, to force the women and girls to work for him, the release said. He allegedly raped a 17-year-old girl and forced her to perform oral sex the first time they met. He then sent her out that same night to engage in prostitution.
Another woman, who was 20 at the time, claimed she was beaten and raped by Carson numerous times, including after she told him she no longer wanted to work for him, the release said.
Carson is being held without bond pending a Friday court appearance, the release said.
If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
