Man Charged In Teen's Stabbing Death
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was charged with murder Tuesday night in connection with the fatal stabbing of a woman on the Southwest Side about 24 hours earlier.
Adan Montano, 37, was charged with one count of first degree murder for allegedly stabbing 18-year-old Stephanie Serrano to death at a house party in the 2900 block of West 63rd Street about 10:15 p.m. Monday, authorities said.
Serrano, of the 8300 block of South Komensky Avenue, was stabbed several times, including in the eye and armpit. She was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 11:12 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Montano later walked in to the 8th District police station, located at 3420 W. 63rd St., claiming he was beaten, said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer. He was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where he was treated for a head laceration.
Montano is scheduled to appear in bond court Wednesday.
