Man Charged In Fatal South Shore Shooting
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A South Side man charged in connection with a fatal shooting earlier this month in the South Shore neighborhood has been ordered held without bond.
Stanley Parker, 20, of the 7700 block of South East End Avenue, faces one count of first-degree murder for the shooting death of 23-year-old Devin Pope on Aug. 1, police said.
Officers responding to a call of a person down about 3:40 a.m. found Pope shot to death in the entryway of an apartment in the 6700 block of South Clyde, authorities said at the time.
Pope, of the 7200 block of South Paxton, was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:55 a.m., the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.
On Sunday, Parker was ordered held without bond, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office. He is next scheduled to appear in court Monday.
