Man Charged In Christmas Knife Attack
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 28-year-old man was charged with attacking a woman and a man with a knife on Christmas morning.
Carlos Cazares, 28, of the 4900 block of South Lamon Avenue, was arrested and charged Sunday with one felony count of domestic battery, one felony count of violating an order of protection, two misdemeanor counts of aggravated assault with knife and one misdemeanor count of domestic battery, according to police.
He attacked a 28-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man with a knife about 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the 4400 block of South California Avenue, according to police.
The woman suffered minor injuries and the man was not injured, police said.
Cazares was also charged with one misdemeanor count of harassment by telephone, and one count of issuance of warrant, police said.
Bond was set Monday at $150,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 3, according to the Cook County Sheriff's website.
