Man Charged In 2009 West Side Murder

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A Schaumburg man has been charged with shooting and killing another man in the West Side's North Austin neighborhood in 2009.

Timothy Sinico, 22, was arrested Sunday by the Chicago Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit at his home in the 200 block of North Ashwood Drive in Schaumburg.

Sinico was charged with one count of first degree murder in the shooting that killed Adrian Thompson, 20, on April 23, 2009, the release said.

Police found Thompson unresponsive in a vehicle in the 1400 block of North Mason Avenue. The car had crashed after Thompson was shot around 10:30 p.m., police said after the shooting.

Grand Central Area detectives were recently able to locate witnesses who identified Sinico, the release said.

At a bond hearing Monday at the Cook County Criminal Courthouse, Sinico was ordered held without bond, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office.

Sinico's next scheduled court date is set for March 9.
