Man Charged Following NW Side Barricade Situation
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 19-year-old Northwest Side man is being held without bond after barricading himself inside an apartment Saturday afternoon following a domestic disturbance.
Police said an officer fired a shot during the incident, but nobody was wounded and no injuries were reported.
Police responded at 2:26 p.m. to a domestic disturbance in the 3400 block of West Sunnyside Avenue and found a man with a knife barricaded inside an apartment, police said.
The police Hostage, Barricade & Terrorist unit responded and the man was taken into custody at 2:42 p.m., police said.
The man, Victor Ozuna, of the 3400 block of West Sunnyside, was charged with a felony count of aggravated assault of a peace officer, according to police News Affairs.
He was ordered held Sunday without bail, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office.
His next court date was scheduled for Feb. 3 at Northwest Felony Court (Br. 50), according to the sheriff's office.
