Man Charged After Deadly Fire In Lombard
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A Villa Park man is facing murder charges after a deadly fire in Lombard.
Todd Mandoline, 23, was charged in the murder of Paula Morgan of Lombard. In addition to the first-degree murder charge, Mandoline also faces two counts of aggravated arson, one count of arson and one count of misdemeanor criminal damage to property.
Mandoline is scheduled to appear in bond court tomorrow morning at 8 a.m.
Monday would have been victim Paula Morgan's 25th birthday.
Authorities say they found a car on fire and flames spreading to the house early Sunday.
The victim was found, with her boyfriend, trapped in the upstairs bedroom. He survived.
A young child made it out of the house and alerted neighbors, Lombard Deputy Police Chief Pat Rollins said.
Police say neighbors spotted flames at the house on South Ahrens in Lombard shortly after a small backyard party.
