Man Caught After Pistol-Whipping, Chase
CHICAGO (CBS) - A man was arrested early Friday on the West Side, after he was chased by the father of a man he allegedly pistol-whipped and robbed.
Police said the man was arrested at Jackson Boulevard and and Pulaski Road, in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.
It apparently all began at an unidentified time Friday morning, when two victims were pistol-whipped and robbed near the intersection of Mason Avenue and Le Moyne Street, in the North Austin neighborhood northwest of the arrest site.
While the victims went to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, the father of one of the victims looked around to see if he could find the suspect.
The father spotted him and began chasing him through Oak Park before heading back east to the city' West Side, ending at Jackson and Pulaski, police said.
The suspect being chased was eventually arrested for having a gun, according to police. His identity was not immediately available Friday morning.
