Man Carjacks Woman, 88, In Orland Park
ORLAND PARK, Ill. (STMW) -- An elderly woman was hospitalized Monday after she was attacked by a man who stole her car in the parking lot of a southwest suburban Walgreens.
A man mugged an 88-year-old woman about 2:20 p.m. Monday after she parked her 2007 Buick Lucerne in the Walgreens parking lot in the 7900 block of West 159th Street in Orland Park, according to a release from Orland Park police.
The man grabbed the woman's purse and keys, kicked her in the leg and struck her in the chest with the door as he opened it, police said. He drove off northbound on 80th Avenue.
The woman was taken to Palos Community Hospital in Palos Heights for treatment of her leg injury, police said.
The suspect is described as a 5-feet-8, 150-pound white man in his 20s, police said. He has a thin build with shoulder-length, wavy, dark hair and a "few days" worth of facial hair growth. He was last seen wearing a black shirt with red writing on the front.
Police are also still looking for the tan, four door vehicle, which has a license plate of G40 9830.
