Man Carjacked, Shot In Leg In East Garfield Park
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 39-year-old man was recovering Wednesday morning, after a terrifying experience in the East Garfield Park neighborhood.
The victim says two men shot him, then escaped in his car.
Police say the incident happened just before 1 a.m. Wednesday in the 3500 block of West Chicago Avenue. The man was walking to his car with a woman, when the suspects pulled out a gun and demanded the keys, police said.
The robbers then ordered the couple to lie on the ground, and when they did, they shot one man in the leg.
The suspects then got into the man's four-door green Audi and sped off, police said.
The wounded man was listed in stable condition at Stroger Hospital of Cook County Wednesday morning, police said.
Investigators have not found the suspects, or the car.
