Man Broke Into Walgreens Twice To Steal Cigarettes
EVANSTON (CBS)-- A 27-year-old man broke into a north suburban Walgreens twice to steal cigarettes, police said.
Matthew A. Long of the 700 block of Hinman Avenue in Evanston was arrested Saturday and charged with two counts of burglary.
The Walgreens at 635 Chicago Ave. was burglarized in the early morning hours of October 11th and 12th, and in both instances cigarettes were stolen, according to police said.
Detectives determined Long, a nearby resident, broke a window with a hammer to enter the store.
Long is expected November 7th at a courthouse in Skokie.
