Man, Boy Wounded In Auburn-Gresham Shooting
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man who police initially reported was killed Sunday in an Auburn Gresham neighborhood shooting is, in fact, alive, police said.
The 20-year-old man was with a 15-year-old boy when both were shot in the 1700 block of West 79th Street about 6:15 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Joshua Purkiss said.
Later Sunday night, police reported the man did not die from a gunshot wound to the head, but rather was in critical condition at Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, police said.
The 15-year-old boy who was with him was in "stable" condition at Christ with a gunshot wound to his arm, police said.
No one is in custody and Area South detectives are investigating. Further details were not available.
