Man, Boy Found Dead At Yorkville Home
YORKVILLE, Ill. (STMW) -- A 35-year-old man and his 4-year-old son were found dead Wednesday in a home in the garage of a home in west suburban Yorkville, police said Thursday morning.
Kendall County Coroner Ken Toftoy said that both victims — Joseph R. Schmitt and son Wyland Schmitt — were found in the garage of the home about 3:21 p.m. Wednesday.
Police said they were dispatched to the home in the 300 block of Bertram Drive on a well-being check call and discovered the two.
Toftoy said the cause of death is unclear. Both he and Yorkville Police Chief Rich Hart said there is no threat of danger to the public.
Kendall County State's Attorney Eric Weis said his office is investigating, but declined to elaborate.
Autopsies are scheduled for Friday, police said.
