Man Asked To Turn Down Radio Punches Officer In Face: Police
BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (STMW) -- A west suburban man asked to turn down his radio ended up in jail when he punched a sheriff's deputy and fought with other cops who showed up to help.
Miguel Coronilla, 39, was charged with felony aggravated battery, disorderly conduct and resisting a police officer, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office. He was ordered held on $10,000 bond Friday.
Sheriff's police were called Thursday for a noise complaint in the 4900 block of South Lockwood Avenue in unincorporated Stickney Township, the release said. Deputies heard the loud music and were met by a "highly intoxicated" Coronilla at the door.
They asked him to lower the volume on the radio, but he refused and told the officer he would "remember your face" and "kill you," the release said. Asked again to lower the music and to provide identification, Coronilla became enraged and punched a deputy in the face.
Additional deputies arrived and took the "combative" Coronilla into custody.
He will next appear in court on June 18 in Bridgeview.
